About your new role:

Speirs Finance Group have an opportunity for a Commercial Assistant – Broker Network to join our talented team. We're a rapidly growing finance business looking for a Commercial Assistant to support the frontline and our customers alike. The position requires a candidate with broad knowledge and experience in the asset finance industry. The role will suit those who have ambition to progress into either credit or relationship management.

Key responsibilities:

• Assist in the relationship management of our broker network by building and enhancing customer relationships.
• Originate and manage a small set of customers.
• Coordinate relief to the Commercial Managers by providing operational support for the broker network:
  • Train brokers on our online platform FOCUS.
  • Support our broker network with credit submissions.
  • Order documents for our broker network where required. Facilitate E-Signing.
  • Own the payout process, making sure new lending is transacted as efficiently as possible.
• Work closely with our credit team and sales team by maintaining credit quality and assisting in the management of daily excesses, covenant monitoring, reviews, expired loans, and watchlist/management schedule returns.
• Support the Commercial Managers in resolving customer queries or complaints with an appropriate solution.
• Collaborate with General Manager – Speirs Finance to develop strategy designed to accommodate the growth objectives of Speirs Finance Group.
• Support the Marketing Manager in initiatives to promote the Speirs Finance Group brand and services.

What you will need to succeed:

• Preferred Bachelor's degree in Finance, Commerce, or equivalent, or 5 years' experience in banking/asset finance industry.
• Have an understanding of asset finance and PPSR law.
• Have a strong accounting or financial analysis background.
• Ability to understand business, industry, and credit risk.
• Outstanding time management.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills (verbal and written).
• Be able to work autonomously, in a small team environment with minimal supervision.
